|---|---|---|
| Lunes y Miércoles | 17:00 – 18:00 | BJJ Infantil |
| Martes y Jueves | 17:00 – 18:00 | Striking Infantil (boxeo y Muay Thai) |
English
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling art. There is no striking. It works on body control, balance, ground positions and submissions, always with a partner and always supervised. For a child, that means learning to solve a physical problem with their head rather than with strength.
What age can they start?
As a general rule, from about 5 or 6 a child can follow a structured class: listen to an instruction, wait their turn, and work with a partner. Earlier than that, a session becomes guided play rather than technique — worthwhile in its own right, but not what we run here.
There is no such thing as starting too late. A 13-year-old beginner is in exactly the same position as any adult beginner, and usually learns faster.
What a child actually learns
- How to fall without getting hurt. It is the first thing taught and the thing most used off the mat.
- Distance and contact. Recognising when someone is too close, and what to do about it.
- Solving under pressure. A partner who resists forces a child to think while uncomfortable. That is the transferable skill.
- Respect for the tap. Everything stops, immediately, every time. It is the first rule in the room.
- Consistency. Progress in BJJ is slow and visible. A child sees their own improvement without anyone having to invent it for them.
The question every parent asks: is it safe?
Kids' BJJ involves no striking. The real risk is that of any contact sport — mat burns, a sore finger, stiffness the next day. Joint locks and chokes are introduced gradually and under control, and the kids' class focuses on position and control long before submission.
House rule: deliberately ignoring a tap means permanent expulsion. At any age. That is not a warning, it is a rule.
Our kids' classes
| Day | Time | Class |
|---|---|---|
| Monday & Wednesday | 17:00 – 18:00 | Kids BJJ |
| Tuesday & Thursday | 17:00 – 18:00 | Kids Striking (boxing and Muay Thai) |
One hour, at 17:00, Monday to Thursday. That slot is set so there is time to finish school, eat and arrive without rushing. We are closed Friday to Sunday.
What it costs
€50 a month for one discipline — the same rate as adults. A second family member pays €40. There is no joining fee and no minimum contract: you pay for the month, you train the month. Cash or Bizum.
For parents, in the room
You are welcome to watch from the designated area, and we encourage it for the first few weeks. The one thing we ask is that you do not coach or correct your child from off the mat — it interrupts the class and leaves the child caught between two instructions.
For under-18s, the registration form and waiver are signed by a parent or legal guardian, and the people authorised to collect the child are named in writing. No photograph showing a child is published without written permission.
